3. A False View of God's Word

Genesis 3:1

“NOW the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?”

The first thing Satan did in the Garden of Eden was to attack the integrity and the authority of the very Word of God. He is still doing that today.

16 "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works."

(2 Timothy 3:16-17)

3 "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables."

(2 Timothy 4:3-4)

A. Types of False Views

a. Extra biblical Revelation - (God’s Word + something)

b. Segmented Biblical Attention (Focusing on certain scriptures)

c. Uncertain Hope - (Causing people to doubt the clear promises of God)

(Romans 8:38-39; 2 Timothy 1:12)

B. Examples of False Views
